Gala Committee

Nydia Alicia

Gala Committee Chair

I was born in Fort Ord California and raised living a Military life. Growing up I was fortunate enough to live in many different States and several overseas locations like Germany and Japan. We settled down in San Antonio Texas and have lived here for over 40 years.

Trying different career goals, I found my passion working in the Hospitality Industries with my primary focus in Food & Beverage. Throughout my career I have Managed dozens of Wedding and Banquet events. Which included planning creating food menus, decorations and innovative specialty cocktails with speeches which complimented both the workplace as well as the groups I hosted. My secondary passion is coming up with ideas and creating designs and then watching them come to life at the events. I became involved with Hearts Smile from my longtime friend who introduced me to Ama. 2023 is my first year as Gala Committee Chair I am so excited to see Ama’s dreams come to fruition. I am honored to be a part of this amazing organization. I know together we will make a difference in a child’s life.

Melody Montoya

Gala Committee Co-Chair

I was raised in Colorado and moved to San Antonio Texas as a young teen, where I have spent most of my adulthood. I’ve had opportunities to live in multiple States which taught me about different cultures and food. As young girl I was fascinated with Harley Davidson Motorcycles and always believed I’d own one someday. Which I’m thrilled to say I am now the proud owner of a 2020 Sportster. In my free time, I enjoy taking rides in the Hill Country with my Fiancé who also rides. I’ve been blessed with 4 Grand kids, 2 girls and twin boys who are the best part of my life and keep me young.
For the past 10 years I have worked in the Staffing Industries which has been the most rewarding career. When I met Ama through my Fiancé, she shared with me her passion for the kids of Hearts Smile, and I knew I had to be a part of this amazing organization as Gala Committee Chair. The 2023 Gala will be the event of the year! You won’t want to miss out.
